We affirm that the word of God has been used in harmful ways against women, People of Color, and our LGBTQIA+ Siblings here and around the world. We welcome people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions (LGBTQIA+). We publicly declare a commitment to racial equity and a dedication to spreading antiracism. We are willing partners with clergy identifying as LGBTQIA+ as well as Black, Brown, Indigenous, Person of Color (BIPOC) Rostered Leaders from all faith communities. We welcome opportunities to support our community through providing open space and sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ weddings and blessings. We annually support the national Reconciling In Christ (RIC) program in a variety of ways, financially as well as continuing education opportunities for our leaders in order to focus on the message and life of love that we are called into with God, through Christ.

Lord of Life began as a mission church in North Austin in 1995. In 1996, we officially became a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). For 10 years we worshiped in storefront locations in the North Austin area. Then, in 2006, we joyfully dedicated the first unit on our land here on Neenah Avenue. In 2017, we became a Reconciling in Christ Congregation. Our church continues to evolve and grow, as we strive to follow Jesus and rejoice in God’s blessings over our ministries.

Our church is part of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
