Mission Statement of Lord of Life Lutheran Church:
Learn • Love • Live
God’s Word • God’s Will • God’s Way
Members of this congregation embrace the Lord of Life Mission Statement by making a covenant with God and with each other to follow God’s WORD, WILL, and WAY faithfully.
Worship services are on Sundays as well as mid-week during Lent, Holy Week and Advent, and on other special occasions such as Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving. Members worship faithfully through sacraments, scripture, music and prayer. By worshiping weekly, participants develop a stronger relationship with God and with each other and become true followers of God’s WILL for all creation.
1 Chronicles 16:23-25 Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be revered above all gods.
Psalm 86:9-10: All the nations you have made shall come and bow down before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.
Grow in Understanding God’s WORD, WILL & WAY through Scripture Study
Bible study is offered several times weekly at Lord of Life. Members intentionally participate in the study of God’s WORD in a class or group setting. Spending time to LEARN God’s WORD brings new meaning to worship and new depth in our faith and personal growth with God, who is revealed to us through the scriptures.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.
Actively Participate in the Ministries of the Church
Congregations are a diverse group of people coming together to share God’s LOVE. A church is built on relationships – working together brings people together. Everyone has spiritual gifts to share, and many hands make great work! There are a variety of ways to be active in the ministries of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, whether it is music, fellowship, property maintenance, youth fellowship, or participating as a worship assistant, altar guild member, church leader or many other ministries the church has to offer.
Romans 12:4-7 For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching;
Thank God Through Financial Gifts (Strive to Tithe)
Members are asked to make an intentional financial commitment to thank God for all God provides and to grow God’s kingdom through Lord of Life Lutheran Church. While the congregation “strives to tithe,” Lord of Life recognizes that the journey of financial giving is different for everyone. The journey to tithe is a marathon, not a sprint. Members prayerfully consider their financial commitment and make an effort to give a little more to God each year.
1Chronicles 29: 13-15 We thank you, our God, and praise you. But why should we be happy that we have given you these gifts? They belong to you, and we have only given back what is already yours. We are only foreigners living here on earth for a while, just as our ancestors were. And we will soon be gone, like a shadow that suddenly disappears.
Malachi 3:10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
In seeking to deepen personal relationships with God, people talk to and listen to God through prayer “ACTS.” Through prayer, members offer deep Adoration of God; Confession for sins, Thanksgiving for all that God provides and will continue to provide; and Supplications (requests to God).
1Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
Reach Out To Others in the Church and Community
God calls everyone to serve neighbors both near and far. In fulfilling the third aspect of the Lord of Life mission statement to LIVE God’s word, members share God’s WORD and reach out to others through acts of kindness and generosity.
Matthew 25:34-36 “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’
Proverbs 3:27-28 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.
