TEXAS RAMPS THIS SATURDAY – The weather is looking very favorable for the ramp build on Saturday morning, April 27, starting at 8am, at 4803 Munson St. 78721.  The Texas Ramp Project is a state-wide charity organization that helps volunteers build wheelchair ramps for low-income, disabled individuals. It’s easy work for a few hours that will make a tremendous positive change for an individual or family.  This is light construction work. We want you to contribute in whatever way you are comfortable. Please bring gloves, eye protection (goggles or safety glasses), and ear protection (plugs or muffs). If you have a cordless drill, please bring it, but not required. Tools and materials will be provided.  Please contact Felicia Wachsmann or Dick Fink if you are interested.

KINDRED SISTERS – OUTING Time for Kindred Sisters on Tuesday, May 7thMeet at church at 9:30 am … leave by 9:40 am.  We will car pool to Georgetown, docent tour of the Williamson Museum, stroll up while enjoying the view of Georgetown Square to Greenhouse for lunch.  Walking shoes a must, especially in the SQUARE.   MUST RSVP by Sunday, May 5th to Glenace Klinker  gsklinker@gmail.com or 512-626-5048 for carpool space and luncheon reservation.

MISSIONAL RIVER SUMMARY OF SURVEY DISCUSSION FORUM – The Missional River Listening Team will be hosting a discussion forum in the cafe on April 28 after late service. Please join us as we discuss what we saw in the survey. For questions contact Randi Ladolcetta.

BBQ & BAKE SALE – Dust off our smokers!!  Sharpen the knifes!!  Find your favorite baking sheets and warm-up the ovens!!  Lord of Life’s annual BBQ & Bake Sale that we hold in conjunction with the Davis Spring Garage Sales is set for May 18.  For us to make this event successful, Dick Fink is looking for volunteers.  Watch for sign-up sheets in the Welcome Center for donations of briskets, sausages, baked goods, drinks, chips, veggies and volunteering!  We would also accept cash donations to help purchase briskets, sausages and other items.  Dick Fink is also looking for a small focus group to help organize the BBQ. John Duarte, Nell Pennington and Rea Wiruscheske will be organizing the Bake Sale.

Get your child registered soon, as the spots are filling fast (VBS Pre-K Class is FULL)!!!

VBS & DAY CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! – VBS and Day Camp are two important ministries of our church. We need your help to make these ministries happen! This year VBS will run 6/24 to 6/28 from 9 to 12. Day Camp will run 7/8 to 7/12 from 9 to 3:30. COMMUNITY GARDEN – ONLY TWO BEDS LEFT!! – Spring has sprung, and we still have 2 community garden beds that are open and waiting for those with the green thumb to select their garden bed and begin planting their gardens. BAD FAITH: THE DANGER OF RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM by Dr. Neil Kressel
