SPRING WORK DAY THIS SATURDAY!!! – Saturday, April 13th, starting at about 8:30 am. Come on out to help clean, beautify and make repairs to the church facilities and grounds. Rain or shine, there will be work to do, so come on out, even if it’s raining. Lunch will be provided. Any questions, please contact Bill Saegert or Ronnie Wachsmann.

LAST WEEK TO ORDER EASTER FLOWERS!!! – Please help us beautify our sanctuary on Easter by purchasing an Easter plant (lily or tulip) for $10/plant.  So far, 21 plants have been purchased (of the 25 plants ordered from BIG). We still have 3 lily & 1 tulip plants available for purchase. The deadline to order is THIS SUNDAY, April 14th. Easter plant purchase envelopes are in the Welcome Center. If you would like to purchase a plant, please fill out the envelope and place in the offering plate or contact the church office. If you have any questions, please contact the church office or Diane Saegert (dsaegert@austin.rr.com).

LENTEN DISCIPLINE – WORKS OF LOVE – Where do you see God at work in your community, changing the story for neighbors in need? How can, or do, you participate in God’s work in the world around you?

LENTEN FOLDERS – Don’t forget to fill your Lenten folders with $0.25 per day during the season of Lent.

PASSION/PALM SUNDAY – Sunday, April 14th, both services. We hope to see you for this special service, with palm processionals and the Passion of Our Lord According to Luke reading.

DOOR HANGERS – There’s one remaining set of Door hangers to be distributed in Avery Ranch (get stack/map from Narthex). If you can give a little of your time on Friday, they can be placed before Palm Sunday. Thank you!

EASTER BRUNCH SERVERS NEEDED – The Evangelism & Outreach team is putting together this year’s Easter Brunch. Breakfast servers are needed that morning starting at 8:45 am. Contact Denise Sheehan if you can give an hour or two on Easter or bake a casserole. denisesheehan16@gmail.com

SEDER MEAL SIGNUPS NEEDED – Seder Meal is NEXT Thursday, April 18th at 6:30 pm.  All are invited to attend this wonderful and participatory worship service and meal.  We ask for a $5.00 donation per person or $20.00 max per immediate family to help cover the cost of the meal. Please contact the church office to RSVP or use the Connection Card. Envelopes are available in the Welcome Center and can be placed in the offering plate. HOLY WEEK/WEEK OF PASSION SERVICES

Palm Sunday is April 14th.  Regular worship services will include a traditional procession with palms and The Passion Narrative from the Gospel of Luke.

Maundy Thursday will be celebrated on April 18 with a regular service at 11:30 AM and a Seder Meal at 6:30 PM.  A full dinner will be provided after the Seder Meal.  Holy Communion will be celebrated at both services.

Good Friday services will be held on April 19th at 11:30 AM and 7 PM.  Both services will be a Tenebrae service (a service of darkness).

Easter Sunday is on April 21st.  A sunrise service will be held at 6:30 AM. Other services will be at 8:15 AM and 10:45 AM.  Please join us as we celebrate the joy of Jesus’ resurrection!

MISSIONAL RIVER SUMMARY OF SURVEY DISCUSSION FORUM – The Missional River Listening Team will be hosting a discussion forum in the cafe on April 28 after late service. Please join us as we discuss what we saw in the survey. For questions contact Randi Ladolcetta.

TEXAS RAMPS – The wheelchair ramp build that was rained out on April 6 has been rescheduled for Saturday morning, April 27, starting at 8am, at 4803 Munson St. 78721.  The Texas Ramps Project is a state-wide charity organization that helps volunteers build wheelchair ramps for low-income, disabled individuals. It’s easy work for a few hours that will make a tremendous positive change for an individual or family.  This is light construction work. We want you to contribute in whatever way you are comfortable. Your Project Manager and other experienced volunteers can help you learn new skills if you like.  Please bring gloves, eye protection (goggles or safety glasses), and ear protection (plugs or muffs). If you have a cordless drill, please bring it, but not required. Tools and materials will be provided.  Please contact Felicia Wachsmann or Dick Fink if you are interested.

COMMUNITY GARDEN – Spring has sprung, and the community garden beds are open and waiting for those with the green thumb to select their garden bed and begin planting their gardens. Two beds have been claimed (#4 & #5) First come, first served on the remaining beds. Contact the office if you are interested in claiming one of the garden beds. office@lordoflifeaustin.org

VBS & DAY CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN! –  Go to the events page on the Lord of Life website to fill out the online registration form and pay via PayPal.  http://www.lordoflifeaustin.org/event-items/  Registration forms are also available in the Welcome Center. Get your child registered soon, as the spots are filling fast (VBS Pre-K Class is FULL)!!!

VBS & DAY CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! – VBS and Day Camp are two important ministries of our church. We need your help to make these ministries happen! This year VBS will run 6/24 to 6/28 from 9 to 12. Day Camp will run 7/8 to 7/12 from 9 to 3:30. SUNDAY EDUCATION NEWS: ALL SUNDAY CLASSES CONTINUE AT 9:30 AM. 

BAD FAITH: THE DANGER OF RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM by Dr. Neil Kressel

This is the first book to journey to the heart of religious militancy. He offers a clear and enlightening analysis of when and how religions become capable of inspiring evil. Join us in the café.

TUESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY – Bible Study on the book of Mark, continues on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Café.
