PRAYER AND HEALING SERVICE THIS SUNDAY – Our next Prayer and Healing Service will be held this Sunday, April 15, at 6 pm.  This is a wonderful, meditative service with soft, repetitive music to allow everyone to more fully focus on connecting with the Lord.  I hope you will be able to join us.

CHURCH PICNIC – SAVE THE DATE!!! – Mark your calendars for the Church Picnic on Sunday, June 3, 2018.

COMMUNITY GARDEN – ONLY 1 BED LEFT!! – Lord of Life Lutheran Church has completed the construction of six 4’ x 8’ raised garden beds and is now offering them in a community garden setting to all members of LOL and our surrounding community on a first come first served basis.  As of 4/12/18, five beds have been claimed, so there is only one bed left. Hurry and claim the last garden bed while it is still prime planting time! Note: Participants will be responsible for their own garden bed and all gardening is conducted at your own risk. The church does NOT guarantee the outcome or success of your garden plot. Contact if you are interested working one of the plots or would like further information.

BAKE SALE DONATED ITEMS NEEDED – The BBQ and Bake sale is coming up soon. Please plan on baking your items and packaging them in easy to sell (disposable) containers. Please bring your baked goods by Friday, April 20th at 12:00 pm. We need enough time to price and label them all before the BBQ on Saturday. Any questions? Please contact Rea at or Nell at .

BBQ & BAKE SALE – It’s that time again for our annual BBQ & Bake Sale on Saturday, April 21st from 7:30 am till 2 pm. Last year was an overwhelming success…we smoked twice as much meat from the previous year and still ran out! I believe that speaks volumes to what our supporting community has come to expect from our annual event. We will be accepting donations for briskets and chickens. A sign-up sheet will be posted in the entrance of the church for those wanting to contribute. An additional sign-up sheet will be posted for volunteers, baked goods, drinks, etc. Please see me or email me at if you have any questions. Thank you, John Duarte

GIVING TO GOD-THE BIBLE’S GOOD NEWS ABOUT LIVING A GENEROUS LIFE BY MARK ALLEN POWELL.  Filled with good news for followers of Jesus, Giving to God shows Christians the way to a better life and a better relationship with their money — and with God. Powell presents stewardship as an act of worship, an expression of faith, and a discipline for spiritual growth. Faithful use of our time, talents, and money starts with a deep, satisfying relationship with the God to whom we belong. We can then learn, says Powell, to give gladly and generously out of our heartfelt connection with God.

INCARNATION: THE SURPRISING OVERLAP OF HEAVEN AND EARTH. Christ is the Incarnation of God; not only one who talks about God but also the one who is God. The idea that Christ was both divine and human will always be a mystery, and therefore many Christians prefer not to discuss it, saying that what they believe won’t change one way or the other. Maybe. But wouldn’t learning more about the Incarnation—a major biblical theme—help us think more clearly about our faith and in turn help us to love God more fully? Join us for discussion in the sanctuary.

WOMEN’S STUDY: The women’s group is meeting each Sunday to discuss The Orthodox Heretic and Other Impossible Tales by Peter Rollins. Feel free to join in at any time. This class meets in the office conference room.

TUESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY – Please join us as we study the book of Mark, 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Café.

THURSDAY MORNING STUDY GROUP – Continues at the Lakeline Target Store snack area at 9:45am. Contact: Marge Kretschmar,, for more information.
