Current News:

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS ON MARCH 11 – Don’t forget to “Spring Forward” and set your clocks ahead by one hour before you go to bed on Saturday, March 10th, as Daylight Savings Time begins on March 11th. We don’t want anyone to miss church because of the clocks changing this Spring.

DID YOU KNOW? – Lord of Life members, family and friends provided over $19,000 in funds, goods, and services in 2017. This is beyond the 11% given by Lord of Life to the Synod benevolence. Examples include the Summer of Service giving drives, Refugee Services of Texas collection, noisy offerings, Lutheran Disaster Flood Response, Harvest Festival proceeds to Battle for the Cure, ELCA Good Gifts, Habitat for Humanity, the Angel Tree Adopt a Family, and so many more! Thank you to all those who so generously donated funds, time and care for others! Your giving makes an impact for so many.

MID-WEEK LENTEN SERVICES – Mid-week Lenten services will continue on Wednesdays at 11:30 am and 7:00 pm from February 28 through March 21.  We will celebrate Holy Communion at both services. Again this year, we will use services from “Holden Prayer Around the Cross.”  These services include repetitive song, prayer, scripture, and time for quiet meditation and reflection.  We hope you will be able to join us as we intentionally take the time to be still…and know God.

EASTER FLOWERS – Please help us beautify our sanctuary on Easter morning by purchasing an Easter plant (lilies, tulips, and hyacinths). Envelopes will be placed in the Welcome Center for the next four weeks. If you would like to purchase a plant, please fill out the envelope and place it in the usher’s baskets as you leave the sanctuary after services, or contact the church office. The cost per plant is $9.00. The deadline to order is March 18. Make sure you take your plant home after the late service on Easter Sunday, April 1. If you have any questions, please contact the church office, Jessica Waggoner, or Pam Kamensky.

EASTER BRUNCH – Easter will be here before we know it, which also means Easter Brunch served by the youth.  Serving is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  A sign-up list of items we need volunteers to bring will be at the church.  Some of those items include:  eggs, sausages, pancake mixes, breakfast casseroles, fresh fruit, OJ, milk, electric griddles, etc.  Anything you sign-up for, including youth that are serving, need to be at church by 8:15.  We plan to start cooking at 8:30. Please sign-up or let Jennifer Niedert ( or 952-847-3221) know if you can bring something or your youth will be able to participate.

EASTER EGG HUNT DONATIONS – It’s Easter Egg Hunt Prep Time! Congregation members, bring in your donation bags of individually wrapped candy any Sunday this month. You can drop candy off with any youth or in the high school classroom. (No chocolate candy please, it melts! We have enough plastic eggs.) See Erica Smith for more information.

GIVING TO GOD-THE BIBLE’S GOOD NEWS ABOUT LIVING A GENEROUS LIFE BY MARK ALLEN POWELL.  Filled with good news for followers of Jesus, Giving to God shows Christians the way to a better life and a better relationship with their money — and with God. Powell presents stewardship as an act of worship, an expression of faith, and a discipline for spiritual growth. Faithful use of our time, talents, and money starts with a deep, satisfying relationship with the God to whom we belong. We can then learn, says Powell, to give gladly and generously out of our heartfelt connection with God. THIS CLASS MEETS IN THE CAFÉ.

WHAT IS A STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY TEAM LEAD – The Stewardship Ministry is a new ministry at LOLLC recently established by the new Constitution. This Ministry Team will lead the congregation in looking at stewardship as a way of life: how do we use our time, talents, and treasures in and through the ministry of God’s church, year round; how are we involved in the care of creation and all of its resources.  The Stewardship Ministry Team Lead is a three-year appointment by the Church Council.
